“Formation” by Marek Vesely

“Formation” by Marek Vesely

In our recent times we have stopped an habit that we’ve always had. From the beginning of history man have tried their food before deciding whether it was good or not for their health and for their society. With the new technologies, men have stopped to do so. We have introduced many new technologies without ever questioning the side effect they would have, at the cost of our privacy and freedom of expression.

“Formation” by Marek Vesely is an admonition, a strong social and political film where the leading character finally decides not to march in formation with the rest of the people and starts thinking about what this era has done to our privacy, superficiality and freedom.

His words are very strong and they describe a panorama that is devastating for everybody. It is a short film that awakens the conscience and tries to shake us from the spell we have fallen into. Shot entirely on DJI Inspire and on a Zenmuse X7, it is technically very interesting and full of editing ideas, made stronger by a great original score.

The “moderator” is telling us something that we all should listen: we have to be careful with the transformation of the contemporary era. We would be really curious to see where Marek is going with his cinema, and how he will further develop these ideas.
