“TangoX” by Alessandra Guarino

Careers in cinema always start with some kind of experiment done at home, with low budget equipment and a lot of creativity. This work by Alessandra Guarino called “Tango X”, where she stars, directs, edits and where she also composed the original score, represents one of this experiments, where the author is trying to figure out how to express himself though cinema.

The idea is very simple: an accordion player and a dancer start to develop a score and a choreography in which reflections multiply the number of dancers in a progressively complex dance scene. The protagonists plays all the roles of the different doppelgangers involved in the scene, creating an entertaining tango that grows to its limit.

We would be curious to know what this small film taught to the director, to see where she is going to develop her next work, hoping that she will start collaborating with more people to make a choral work together with a crew to improve her potential, her skills and her film language.
